Business Development Manager

Sales Executive – Newcastle – Up to £40,000


Our client who are a Global Freight Forwarder are looking for a Sales Executive to join the team at their Newcastle location.

The purpose of the role is to seek and secure new business opportunities in the North East and the Midlands whilst maintaining and developing the current customer base.

Package:

  • Up to £40,000 (DOE)
  • Car allowance
  • 33 days hols per annum inclusive of PH
  • Life Assurance 2 x annual basic salary
  • Pension – auto enrolled at 3 months, 5% employee, 3% employer contribution
  • Simply Health cash back scheme following successful completion of Probationary Period – 6 months

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify sales targets & secure business opportunities
  • Maintain and develop existing customers through regular meetings
  • Respond to and follow up on any sales leads in a timely and professional manner
  • Working closely with the National sales team to promote and develop the company brand in the UK
  • Develop sales plan and prioritise appropriately to deliver business objectives
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly sales meetings
  • Deliver effective sales presentations to prospective customers
  • Maintain and report all relevant customer information on the company’s CRM system
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities
  • Liaise with Operations personnel to identify customer service issues and address appropriately
  • Attend meetings and business seminars as requested by the National UK Sales Manager
  • Organise and attend client hospitality events when required
  • Meeting and exceeding all KPI’s, including number of weekly sales calls
  • Travel within the UK and internationally as required

Essential:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales delivery
  • Fully Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Driven and organised manner
  • Previous experience in Freight Forwarding / Logistics
  • Driving licence
