Customs and Compliance Coordinator - Heathrow - Up to £40,000

This Global freight forwarder are looking to bring on an experienced customs and compliance individual to join their team in Heathrow.

Responsible for day to day checking of customs declarations and submissions from customer's suppliers to a variety of EU customs centres, ensuring compliance with all
laws, regulations and AEO . Ensuring timely feedback to client and suppliers regarding submissions . Confidently discuss and resolve issues with customers, suppliers and
Customs Officers.

Package

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 DOE
20 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing to 25 days after 2 years' service

Experience required

Required: 1 year experience in EU regulatory framework for Importing / exporting
Minimum: 2 years general import /export experience
Experienced in liaising with customs houses

Essential day to day tasks

Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow for client
Understand all elements of the import and export customs process
Administer checking of received Processing Import and Export customs entries
Verify documents received for import & export customs purposes are compliant and correct
Ensure correct preference is applied to goods if applicable and that any relevant customs procedures and regimes such as IPR, OPR and CFSP have been applied where necessary.
6. Report and Liaise with customers regarding any valuation, classification and preference issues where necessary taking into account any AEO regulations
Ensure correct import taxes are declared on relevant customs documents
Maintain appropriate reports for management purposes
Feedback any discrepancies to client and suppliers as appropriate highlighting any required
changes.
Escalate problems to management when necessary
