Position: European Road Freight Operator
Location: Thatcham, Berkshire
Salary: £31,000 – £35,000
Hours: Mon – Friday 08:00 – 17:00
My client are a well-established independent freight & logistics service provider delivering bespoke logistical solutions at a personal and global level.
Due to accelerated growth, my client are looking to appoint an experienced European Road Freight Operator to join their dynamic team of logistics professionals based in Thatcham. The Role:
- Complete the entire life cycle of the freight process for EU Road consignments
- Raising and arranging customs clearances
- Managing booking slots with suppliers and receivers
- Keeping customers fully updated on the status of their movement
- Creating and updating bookings on our Freight Management Software
- The role will require constant communication by telephone and email to our customers and hauliers in order to provide an exceptional logistics service.
Key Requirements:
- Positive and solution based approach to work
- Knowledge of customs systems (i.e. Sequoia) and experienced in raising import/export clearances
- Experience in European Road Freight ideal, but Air/Sea experience would suffice
- Excellent customer service skills
- Confident communicating via both phone and email
- Experience of Microsoft office packages in a work environment
- Be able to learn new IT systems quickly and accurately
- Be a team player that is focused on delivering the best possible customer experience
- UK National or right to work in the UK essential, no visa can be offered.
