Position: Internal Sales Support - Freight Forwarding
Location: Basildon
Salary:£18,000 - £22,000
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 17:30pm

My client, is a privately owned, highly established Freight Forwarding company based in Basildon, looking to strengthen their commercial activity by means of appointing 2 new internal sales support operators to the team at their offices based in Basildon.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Reporting to a Business Development Executive, the primary goal is to secure new customers and where applicable develop existing or fall off customers for the company through telesales and online marketing to achieve or exceed agreed sales targets and KPI's.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a plan of sales calls for prospect business with the Business Development Executive ensuring qualified research is carried out on all prospects.
Monitor own sales plan and take remedial action where necessary to ensure that sales targets and KPI'S are met.
Develop and maintain relationships with potential customers and other relevant bodies to ensure that the company's maximum sales potential is realised.
Maintain an awareness of developments in sales techniques and technology to ensure that the company maintains and develops its competitive position.
Maintain pipeline of prospect business monthly, medium term and long term.
Maintain all records within systems provided of all sales activities sharing pertinent information with your colleagues
Construct and develop sales presentations as and requested
Qualifications of prospects for Trade Shows, Exhibitions, online marketing campaigns etc.
Providing Quotations for prospect business and follow up.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Commercial, Enthusiastic, Entrepreneurial
Minimum 1-year experience in tele sales
Knowledge of freight forwarding a benefit, but not essential.
Collaborative approach to APGL colleagues
Able to plan as well as work to and meet deadlines
Able to implement and manage systems which further enhance the APGL profile
Possess team player qualities
A pro-active attitude
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills
Able to promote the APGL corporate culture
Computer literate
