Our Cannock office is a key hub for our operations in the United Kingdom, and we are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Ocean Export Operator to join our dynamic team.

Job Description

As an Ocean Export Operator, you will play a vital role in managing and coordinating the export of goods via ocean freight. You will work closely with clients, shipping lines, and internal teams to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of cargo. Your attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and knowledge of export procedures will be essential in delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the end-to-end process of ocean export shipments, ensuring compliance with international regulations and customer requirements.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and shipping lines to arrange bookings, container allocations, and necessary documentation.
• Prepare and verify export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our systems, maintaining shipment records and tracking information.
• Communicate with customers to provide updates on shipment status, resolve any issues, and address inquiries promptly.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including customs brokerage and operations, to ensure smooth handover and execution of shipments.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to ocean export operations.
• Assist in resolving any operational or documentation discrepancies, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or queries.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ocean Export Operator or in a similar role within the freight forwarding industry.
• Strong knowledge of ocean export procedures, documentation, and regulations.
• Familiarity with shipping lines, container types, and Incoterms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficient in using freight management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of customs clearance processes and relevant certifications would be an advantage
