Position: Operations Manager – Freight Forwarding
Location: Basildon, Essex
Hours: Mon – Fri – 8:30am – 17:00pm
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (Negotiable)
An experienced Multi Modal Freight Operations Manager is required to play a vital support role to the UK Branch Manager with an independently owned freight forwarding group for their Basildon branch.
This role will require the successfull candidate to oversea the daily freight operations for air, sea, road and most importantly cross trade shipments.
This is an exciting opportunity to become apart of a rapidly expanding freight forwarding organisation, and can offer elevated progression routs.
Multi-Modal freight experience is required, in particular, Crosstrade.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain business standards for accuracy, productivity and reliability
- Manage the daily functions of the business
- Prepare regular performance reviews and ensure best practice
- Ensure regulatory, compliance and legal rules are followed
- Manage budget to align with the goals of the business
- Develop current and new business and maintain customer loyalty
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as operations or branch manager with a UK based Freight Forwarder
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Strong ability to multitask
- Hands-on approach
- Comfort working with multiple groups within the business
- Experience with all modes of freight/transport and particularly cross-trade
