Sea Freight Key Account Manager for a Growing Multi Site Freight forwarders Modern Office in St Albans

Strength in Sea Freight is ESSENTIAL but the role is multi modal

The Package:
Circa £42K – £50K

The Role:

“This position forms part of the existing Operations team. It requires the jobholder to manage a proportion of the top 10 clients. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of each of the client requirements, calculating and negotiating AIR, ROAD and SEA spot quotations and managing the freight bookings from collection through to final delivery. To build relationships with the Existing clients both over the telephone and face to face and deliver a high standard of customer care at all times. To meet with key suppliers to maintain the most advantageous rates. To participate in the fortnightly operations management meeting and contribute to the overall efficiency of the business.”


* Import & Export within the operations team, taking appropriate action to maintain a high level of accuracy.
* To authorise and check quotations issued by other departments and offer advice and guidance on quotations to the operations team, to ensure that profits are maximised.
* To ensure that the department offers a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers
* taking responsibility to ensure that work passed onto others is of a high quality.
* To demonstrate an understanding of Customs requirements, Aviation Security and Dangerous Goods rules, ensuring that all controls, formalities and procedures are implemented both pre and post shipment.
* To support any operational requirements in line with qualifications gained and training received.
* To ensure that all documentation, records and systems are accurate and kept up to date.

Requirements:

Sea Freight experience with a Freight Forwarder
Export or Import (or both)
Key Accounts experience
